Ewan’s been back at it this month, mixing another documentary in our Stage 2 mix theatre, based on the life of Chairman Mao. More information as it’s revealed to us.
Short film “Last Christmas” came to our studio from Goonworks Films this month. As the winner’s of 2010’s BravoFact Grant, and the National Film Board of Canada FAP Grant, producer Katie Weekley and director Geoff Redknap aren’t strangers to dbc, and we’re excited to have them back!

dbc is kicking off the new year by beginning post-production work for “Endgame”, a new Canadian (filmed and produced in Vancouver!) TV series from Thunderbird Films. Starring Shawn Doyle, the show follows a genius chess master who has become a shut-in at a luxery Vancouver hotel after witnessing the murder of his fiance. In order to pay the bills, he begins to solve crimes and help others with problems they can’t bring to the police. The show is set to air in Spring of 2011 on Showcase. We’ll keep you up to date with show times as they’re announced!

dbc hosts the screening of “Tora” on Thursday, December 16th, for directors Wendy Ord and Glen Samuel, as well as actor David Suzuki. We’re happy to host the party to kick off the films debut!
Tuesday, December 7th saw the launch of Disney and Propaganda Games’ “Tron: Evolution” video game prequel to the “Tron: Legacy” feature film. Take a listen to all those cinematic sounds – the louder the better!
“The Charlie Da Clown Show” premiers Tuesday, December 14th at Vancity Theatre. It costs $10.00 to enter, and all proceeds will be going to the Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Good luck to the Granger Bros! dbc had a blast working on the show.

Vancouver International Film Festival starts this Friday, October 1st! dbc is excited to see two of the films we had a chance to work on screening at this year’s event.
“Altitude” is playing at 6:00PM on Sunday, October 3rd, on the Park Theatre screen.
“A Night For Dying Tigers” will be shown on Monday, October 4th at 9:15PM on the Empire Granville 2 screen. If you can’t make it to that screening you can check it out on Wednesday, October 6th at 2:45PM on the Empire Granville 4 stage.
