We were thrilled to have Reginald the Vampire back in our studio this Fall for Season 2! It’s always a pleasure when we get to welcome a show back for another season, and Reginald was no different – a big thank you to all the cast and crew for making it a smooth and fun experience for us. We love having you here on the mix Stage! You can check out Reginald Season 2 on the Syfy Network.
As we welcome a few other shows to the studio, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate our office, and the people who make it such a wonderful, collaborative, creative space. We still have room available for lease if you’re interested in sharing space with a wonderful group of people, including visual effects supervisors, NWD Colortime Inc., showrunners and writers, and of course other sound editors. If you’re interested in checking out what we have to offer, don’t hesitate to reach out to Kat, [email protected].
Welcome Spring time!
Stage 1 was the original dbc sound mix stage, which has seen some changes over the years. We reacquired the Stage back to our facilities in March of 2020, which unfortunately then didn’t immediately get to see much work as the pandemic hit. Now that we’ve navigated through those times and are happily welcoming clients back to the studio, this Stage has been hard at work! Fully upgraded, we mixed the Theatrical ATMOS version of “Violent Night” here that you may have heard in theatres this past Christmas.
Of course, the Stage is also fully equipped for television mixes as well, and we just wrapped up a Netflix project in this space!
Check out some photos of the Stage below, and contact Kat to book your project here today!
It was a busy summer here in the studio. After an installation of our brand new Dolby Atmos monitoring system in our Stage 1 theatre, we finished up our (and Western Canada’s) very first Dobly Atmos theatrical print! You can see “Violent Night” in Atmos in theatres on Friday, December 2nd.
We’ve been busy here at dbc!
Our second mix stage (which was formerly our first mix stage, hence the name “Stage 1”) is back in action! Featuring near field 7.1 monitoring on Genelec 8030B’s with a 7040 subwoofer, It also contains an Avid S6 two person, 48 fader mixing console, and new Avid MTRX digital to analogue converters with DADman routing software for multi format monitoring.
Coming soon to Stage 1 is theatrical ATMOS! We’ll have more details to share about this exciting upgrade soon.
Also available now is production office space for rent. Four rooms perfect for editing, a large office room with full windows showcasing a stunning view of the North Shore mountains, and access to common space which includes a space to relax, full kitchen, and washrooms. If you have a project perfect for this space, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact us.
